Introduction

This is the GYO system, which is a simple content management system developed by [Babel Com Australia|http://www.babel.com.au/].

GYO emphasises simplicity over functionality, and allows users to update their web sites using a simple web interface, without any knowledge of HTML.

GYO is very simple and easy to use. It has a simple wiki based markup e.g. bold, italic, ! for headings, etc.

GYO isn't bloated and full of features, and we intend to keep it that way. It has a simple two level menu structure, and a simple administrator/editor access system. It is very lean, mean, and fast. If you need a more full featured content management system, with arbitrarily deep menus, integrated document management, and a complex user management system then you would be best to look elsewhere, for example one of the other Open Source content management systems seen at [OSCOM|http://www.oscom.org/]

GYO can serve multiple sites from the same code and database, thus leaving a very small system footprint. It's very easy to set up and allows a system administrator to set up many many sites on the one server with one database very easily.

GYO is used extensively by Doctors' Surgeries, Vets, and other small service businesses in our area that aren't at all computer literate but want a simple web site that they can update with their latest news & information.
